Trogir

Trogir lies on litle island, conected to land on side to the island of Čiovo on the other.
The city was founded in 3 B.C. in the time the Greeks come from Sirakuz, ofter wich they migrated to Issa (island of Vis) taking the name Tragurion (goot island). Trogir is the oldest city on the Dalmatian coast.

On the southest side of the stand a 14th century Dominikan monastery is located.
There is also the st.Nikola monastery, also a museu, which the
benedictans founded in the 11th century, occoppied today by nuns.
Taking a walk through the old post of the city, through the narrow streets, one
can see vorruous ornaments and monuments:
The cathedral of st. Ivan with lapidarij and antiques, city hall, the city
tower and galery, the pre-romantic basilica of st. Barbara, Cipiko palace,
palace of the Garanjin family (now city museum) and the most famoses dalmation
monument of arhitecture - the portal on the cathedral of st. Lovre, the
work of Radovan (worldknown artist Radovan from the 13th cca.) and
others.
Trogir will be a interesting place for young people considering it's numerous bars, cofes and restourants located in the old port of the city and surroudings area.
